Winston Churchill once said, “You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.” Giving to our neighbors locally and globally is central to our life at RUMC. To get involved in any of these outreach opportunities, you can email us here.
OPEN DOOR SHELTER IN SOUTH NORWALK
We partner with the Norwalk Emergency Shelter in their service to local individuals and families by serving in their soup kitchen, as well as supporting special seasonal efforts throughout the year. We also host a monthly collection of non-perishable items for their food pantry.
Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County
Several times a year, our church joins other members of the local United Methodist Coalition to assist in the funding and building of new homes for our neighbors in Bridgeport, CT. To learn more about the great work this area Habitat chapter is doing, you can visit their website here: www.habitatcfc.org
United Methodist Committee on Relief
Through offerings and educational programs, we partner with our denomination’s international relief organization, UMCOR. Active worldwide, and in the areas of greatest need, UMCOR is nationally recognized as a top charity. To explore some of the places UMCOR is reaching out right now, follow this link: www.umcor.org
